On this beautiful day, I wake up. I roll over and get a stretch in. Then I pick up my iPhone that’s lying next to my pillow. I swipe up to unlock my phone with Face recognition. I go straight to Instagram as usual. What do I see? A stunning image of one of the looks from Schiaparelli’s 2024 Haute couture show. I gaze at the image in awe of the Beauty that has inhabited my screen! Wow! Schiaparelli has done it yet again, I murmur to myself. The collection honors the founder – Elsa Schiaparelli’s singular gift for rebirth. Each look in the collection titled “The Phoenix” sparks an emotion when it catches your eye and goes further to arrest your gaze until you feel that mystical emotion deeply. Schiaparelli is “Collected ART”. 

I click on Schiaparelli’s Instagram profile. Then, I continue to click on the link that takes me to the video clip of the runway show. I watch in excitement as the models strut down in the artistic pieces. The show is so sublime that I am transported into this captivating universe of Schiaparelli. It feels like I am in a church of fashion. It’s a parade of the most gorgeous wearable art I have ever seen. The looks below have taken me captive.

After watching the show, I return to the Instagram streets. There, I stumble upon yet another incredible Haute couture designer. It’s Jean Paul Gaultier. Wow! Just wow! I say to myself as I pause for a second to marvel at the ethereal piece that locks my gaze. With my right thumb, I scroll further down. I see a couple more images from the collection. Then I scurry off to JPG’s profile in desperate search of the link to the parade. Found it! I exclaim as I click on it to unveil the magnificence of a show. My eyes are met with masked-up looks and deconstructed pieces. According to Vogue, the collection tells a story about a Paris newbie, who wears covered-up clothes: jackets and dresses with long sleeves, long skirts, and necklines that extend up to the face. Slowly, as the show progresses, the head appears. Then the shoulders emerge. By the end of the show, dresses start to glide off the hips in a sultry manner. The looks below have me in a choke-hold.

After recovering from my choke-hold, I return to Instagram yet again in search of more Haute couture beauty. The one & only House of Dreams “Dior” had an incredible show. It paid homage to the athletes of the Paris 2024 Olympic games, which are just around the corner. By using jersey fabrics, stunning pieces were created. This is something you’ll not normally see in the Haute Couture universe. Timeless elegance & sophistication are two words that always describe the Dior universe. Here are a few looks that stood out for me.
