3. If you are considering fashion design, it is highly recommended that you go to a very good fashion school e.g. ESMOD fashion school, IFM Fashion school, Central Saint Martins, Fashion Institute of Technology and several others.
4. The fastest way to find an internship or a job is by applying through fashionjobs.com, LinkedIn or directly on the company’s website
5. A well written Fashion CV with the right keywords is important. It will increase your chances of receiving that phone call or email from a recruiter. Your CV should be summarized into 1 page.
6. Doing one internship will give you a 50% chance of securing a job in the Industry. Doing two internships increases that chance to 75%
7. Understanding the landscape of the Industry is crucial. Knowing the different sectors within the industry will help & guide you in choosing a career path.
8. During an interview, you must have a deep knowledge of the brand that you’re interviewing with. You should know the brand’s DNA, values, positioning & product universe.
9. Being bilingual is NOT compulsory. However, it can be an added advantage.
10. Knowing about key players or groups in the industry will help broaden your industry knowledge. Examples include LVMH, Kering, Chanel, Richemont, and Hermes.
